Laser Skin Tightening

Laser Skin

Laser skin tightening is a minimally invasive, non-surgical process that uses an infrared light source (a laser) to tighten skin by heating the collagen under the skin’s surface, causing the skin to contract (tighten). Facial skin tightening is noticeable immediately after the treatment, and there is no downtime, making this an increasingly popular procedure. Additional skin tightening occurs over the next few months, but optimal results usually require two or three treatments about a month apart.Laser skin tightening is an FDA approved method for the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. While laser skin tightening results may not be as dramatic as those of a face lift, patients enjoy moderate results with no downtime. An added benefit of laser skin tightening is that it is safe and effective for restoring a more firm, youthful appearance to skin all over the body. Read on to learn more about the benefits of laser skin tightening treatment.

Skin tightening treatment also encourages the growth of new collagen in the treated areas and promotes the absorption of more collagen from surrounding, untreated areas. With the regeneration of natural collagen, laser skin tightening patients immediately begin to notice smoother, softer skin and a more youthful appearance. The effects continue to improve over the next few months following laser skin tightening treatment, as the skin’s natural stores of collagen are gradually replenished.

The Candela Corporation announced that its GentleYAG® laser now offers consumers skin tightening treatments adding to the laser’s current applications; leg and facial vein removal. The GentleYAG tightens by heating the underlying layers in the skin and forming new collagen resulting in smoother, younger looking skin. The GentleYAG’s patented epidermal cooling system, the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD™), protects the skin with every laser pulse allowing for quick results.

Dr. Mark Taylor, a dermatologist at the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, conducted a new clinical study comparing skin tightening results of the GentleYAG versus a commonly used radiofrequency device, Thermage. The study found the GentleYAG to be more effective than Thermage. Additionally, GentleYAG treatments proved to be faster, less painful and more economical for the patient and practitioner. The results of Dr. Taylor’s study were presented at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) 25th Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.

“Candela’s GentleYAG Skin Tightening laser is an exceptional new way to get rid of wrinkles and tighten skin”, said Dr. Taylor. “The patients I have treated with the GentleYAG are overwhelmingly happy with the results.” Taylor continued, “Because it is so quick and results in little redness, patients can receive a skin tightening treatment during their lunch break and their co-workers wouldn’t even notice.”

Laser Toe Nail Fungus Treatment

Laser toenail fungus treatment targets the fungal infection by using an Nd YAG Laser. The laser will penetrate through the toenail, and hit the infected area called the toenail matrix. Many people are embarrassed to show their feet in public due to toenail fungus, but there is an answer. This laser treatment can help you remove that embarrassing toenail fungus, and has been helping individuals become confident again since the 1980’s. Here at Oasis Med Spa & Laser Center, we have multiple professionals trained and prepared to assist you in eliminating that pesky toenail fungus once and for all.

The treatment will generally take about 10-15 minutes per visit, and treatments are spaced approximately 30 days apart. Sometimes the fungus is effectively treated and destroyed after one visit, but it may require multiple treatments. Most patients require between 2-4 treatments. The cost to completely remove the toenail fungus can vary depending upon the severity of the infection, how much is treated, and the amount of treatments needed.
