Laser Hair Removal with the Candela Lasers

Winner of the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Hair Removal Laser.

Candela Lasers are the premier lasers for hair removal providing permanent hair reduction for skin types I-VI with the Gentle Lase and GentleYag models. This laser system is fast, versatile, and easy to use.. Candela’s are the only lasers that use the Dynamic Cooling Device to protect and cool the skin during the laser procedures. DCD maximizes patient comfort and epidermal protection by delivering a shot of cryogen to the skin prior to each laser pulse. DCD reduces the need for cooling gel and topical anesthesia, and permits for quick patient recovery.

Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking, waxing and depilatory creams provide only temporary relief. Candela Lasers safely removes unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Facial and bikini areas are usually completed in under ten minutes; legs, backs and larger areas can take longer.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ

What does the treatment include?

Depending on the amount of hair treated, the procedure varies from patient to patient. Generally, the treatment will include:

  • Wearing safety eyewear to protect the practitioner and patient’s eyes from the laser light during the procedure.
  • A handpiece, with a sterilized distance guage attached to the end, will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. A light spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse.
  • A test area will be done prior to the entire treatment. Your full treatment may be done on the same day or up to two weeks later, depending on the skin reaction.
  • Most patients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device. The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her pain threshold. A topical anesthesic may also be requested based on individual preferences or tolerances. Be sure to discuss this with your practitioner in advance of the laser treatment.
  • The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the area treatment.
  • The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application of ice or cooling gels.

What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?

  • Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment or until your practitioner allows it.
  • You must not pluck, wax or take out hair in any way. The hair must be present in the follicle to treat.
  • If you have had a history of perioral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.
  • You should discuss your desired results and the improvements you expect to achieve with your practitioner. Together you can decide if your expectations will be met and if this laser treatment is the best option.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin color and coarseness of the hair. Everyone will require at least 4 to 6 treatments, as the process is only effective on hair during the growth cycle. Repeat sessions will be necessary to treat these follicles when they re-enter the early growth phase.

FotoFacial RF for Color Correction

The Skin Rejuvenation applicators target both vascular and pigmented lesions for skin rejuvenation. The targeted vascular or pigmented lesions absorb the heat energy raising the temperature of the target tissue. Then RF energy flows to the heated area and elevates the temperature to the level required for effective treatment and overall improved skin texture.

Refirme Skin Treatment

The Refirme applicator stimulates long term collagen synthesis as well as existing collagen fibers, giving an immediate firmed appearance. The procedure uses a combination of gentle pulsed infrared light and bipolar radio frequency (RF) to provide deep dermal heating.

Step 3 : Matrix IR™

Matrix IR Focused Remodeling

The Matrix IR fractional applicator delivers more focused energy to target zones, promoting fast collagen renewal and remodeling for a smoother appearance. The laser energy is delivered in a form of micro-beams creating matrix thermal bands. This fractional energy enables the introduction of more focused energy into demarcated zones in the dermis to denature and remodel collagen.

 

 


Matrix IR

The Matrix IR™ by Syneron™ combines fractionated 915nm diode laser and bipolar radiofrequency for a non-ablative treatment reducing facial wrinkles and scars. This heating activates fibroblasts signaling collagen to remodel and form new collagen cells, resulting in reduction of the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, perioral wrinkles, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and scars   Because the energy is fractionated, more intense light energy can be delivered into microscopic zones leaving untreated skin around these zones that assist in healing and collagen remodeling allowing for more effective treatments

 


Brown Spot Laser Removal (Age Spots)

Sun spots are otherwise known as age-spots, brown spots, liver spots, solar lentigenes as well as hyper-pigmentation and are easily treated and removed with a laser, usually removed in only one or two treatments using either the Candela GentleLASE.

Sun spot removal and treatment is a quick and tolerable momentary sensation much like the snap of a rubber band. Immediately following the laser treatment you should expect to see the treated brown spot turn slightly red. It will turn to a darker brown within the next 24 hours. The darker spot will slough off in approximately 5-7 days. Sunscreen is suggested during that 5-7 days.

It is very important to avoid sun exposure or sunless tanning creams and booths in the area to be treated before and for a period after the treatment.

Results are amazing. Finally those pesky brown spots are easily erased!!!

 

 

Non Ablative Skin Tightening with the Candela Yag Laser

Skin Tightening without plastic surgery? You’ve probably heard of the “non surgical facelift.” Today, noninvasive Skin Tightening is a reality with the use of Lasers.

The Yag Skin Tightening works by a laser wave of therapeutic heat that treats the collagen and elastin fibers within the skin. This heating effect provokes a contraction of the aged and disorganized collagen fibers while also stimulating the fibroblasts to begin re-growth of new collagen. The frequencies will heat up the water content within the skin, causing a uniformed heating effect. This process, also known collagen remodeling, results in a firmer and smoother skin!

Optimal results are achieved with 4-6 treatments. A series of microdermabrasions or chemical peels prior to the laser treatment will result in better stimulation of the collage and elastin fibers. New collagen growth will continue for four to s
